Police are hoping the public can help them find a 20-year-old woman missing since Sunday.

According to the Ocala Police Department, Abigail Stevens is mentally handicapped.

Family members said she sometimes answers to “Michelle.”

Stevens lives in a group home for mentally handicap adults in Leesburg, police said. She was in Ocala visiting her biological mother Sunday at Paddock Mall when the two became separated around 12:30 p.m. When she couldn’t find her daughter, the woman called police.

Then, around 9 p.m. Sunday, Stevens’ adoptive mother also called OPD and reported that she had not heard from her daughter.

Stevens has red hair, stand approximately 4-feet 11-inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing a green and white shirt, white jeans and white shoes, and was carrying a flowered book bag. She takes various medications, but it was not known if she had them with her.
