Keen, redwing, danner, some columbia, asolo...these are all popular brands. I have a pair of keen hiking shoes gtx h2o proof. if you order them online read reviews if you go to a store go to rei, gander mountain..ect. ask the clerk. I also have a pair of danner hiking boots. make sure you get something at least mid calf so you dont get rocks or water in them. if your going on trails hiking shoes are fine. if your doing hilly mountain type stuff get boots. enjoy

If you pull your shoes/hiking boots off in a field in Ireland and relax, would you get your feet tickled?

Oh, absolutely it would happen. If you have really ticklish feet, you have no chance of escaping from the leprechauns' spells. Their tickling field is completely irresistible to anyone with really ticklish feet; no matter how much you may think you are using your free will in deciding where to go, you will find that you have to choose their enchanted field for a reason you will not be able to explain. Even if you make the conscious decision to go right through the field from beginning to end, you won't be able to do it. You will have to stop to rest and relax; it will be impossible to do otherwise, for the leprechaun magic is at its strongest, overpowering all within their realmand compelling even those who would never go barefoot for love or money to pull off their boots or shoes and expose their ticklish tootsies for the delectation of the leprechauns. At first, it will still seem as if everything is just as you intended. Even if you have some strange feeling that really under a spell, you will shut it out of your mind and think that everything is fine, and that's when the leprechauns will strike, appearing from nowhere and immediately beginning the most intensely torturous tickling of your helpless barefeet. Your first instinct will be flight, but to your amazement you'll find yourself powerless to escape, unable to pull away your tickle-tortured twitching tootsies from the devious leprechauns. But it will not be long before you yield and let yourself enjoy the tickling to the utmost. When the leprechauns have tickled your bare feet as long as they like, then they will vanish as quickly as they came. Some people lose all memory of the events in the field. However, the most ticklish and the most fun to tickle are usually permitted to retain their memories. Often leprechaun magic will go even farther, for, once one's barefeet have been tickled by leprechauns, leprechaun magic can make the tickling occur again at any time in any place, even years and years later.
